Info
Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant is the fourth album from the Scottish group Belle & Sebastian released in 2000. Stuart Murdoch recalled that this album felt more difficult to make than prior albums. Musically the songs were more complex and demanded a pop precision that you just couldnt skirt around requiring the group to practice and refine things more than they had traditionally. Recorded by Tony, with assistance from Willie Deans and Ian Grier at CaVa Studios. When Belle & Sebastian canceled several dates on their 1998 North American tour after cellist Isobel Campbell fell ill, many fans cried foul couldn't the rest of the group have gone on without her Of course not - Belle & Sebastian is a band in the most democratic sense of the word, a point reinforced by Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant, their fourth and most ambitiously eclectic album to date. A Belle & Sebastian song that's too poppy DICK. Hey, Stuart Murdoch's best songs have always been breezy, but they're usually given heft by dry wit and eccentric detail. On this album, his better songs are the sadder, more serious ones- I Fought in a War and The Chalet Lines. His lighter, more pop-driven songs come off more like parodies of Belle & Sebastian songs, or, at best, outtakes from past albums. The Model and Women's Realm sound like he's trying too hard, cramming in as much lyrical and musical detail a. Belle And Sebastian - Beyond the Sunrise. Belle And Sebastian - Waiting for the Moon to Rise. Belle And Sebastian - Don't Leave the Light on Baby. Belle And Sebastian - The Wrong Girl. Fold your hands Child. is a perfect example of their unique music. The Chalet lines represents one of there amazing slow songs, and Theres too much love is an upbeat, incredible song too. While every Belle and Sebastian cd is a work of genius, this one is by no means a flaw in their work as a whole, it is a beautiful addition. 0 of 0 users found this helpful.
