It assembles various B-Sides and rarities the band has released since its previous compilation album Push Barman to Open Old Wounds. Belle and Sebastian's The Third Eye Centre compilation cobbles together a cherry-picked sampling of post-2003 rarities in randomized order. Its an odd approach for a band thats put so much effort into proper album presentation, but one thats reflective of the more freewheeling nature of their post-2000 records. In the late 90s, Belle and Sebastian were one of the first bands to capitalize on the internets ability to unite small clusters of enthusiasts into a sizeable and vocal international cult.
