Info

InCasinoOut stylized as inCASINOOUT is the second full-length album by American post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, released on August 18, 1998 through Fearless Records. It was recorded as a live studio album, with the intention of better capturing the energy and sound of their live shows. The album marks a clear middle ground between the dirty, lo-fi sound of their first album, Acrobatic Tenement, and the sleeker, more produced sound heard on Relationship of Command. At the Drive-In. Throughout the late 90s, they were a powerful force both live and on record. No one piece of their discography can encompass all this as well as InCasinoOut, a studio album where, trying to capture the high energy of their live show, the band decided should be played live in studio. What this accomplished was perhaps a bit rawer sound than can be found on their preceding two albums, but InCasinoOut is still another shining example of why At the Drive-In is one of the most influential bands not only of post-hardcore, but of the 90s in general. At The Drive-In. Released August 18, 1998. inCASINOout Tracklist. Alpha Centauri Lyrics. InCasinoOut is the second full-length LP by At The Drive-In. To better capture the raw, frenetic energy of their live performance, they recorded the 10 tracks as a live studio album. InCasinoOut is a clear midpoint between the gritty, lo-fi sound of At The Drive-Ins debut album Acrobatic Tenement and their highly produced, major label-funded third album Relationship of Command. inCASINOout Q&A. InCasinoOut is the second full-length LP by American post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, released in 1998. The album marks a clear middle ground between the dirty, lo-fi sound of the their first album, Acrobatic Tenement, and the sleeker, more produced sound heard on Relationship of Command. Raw energy in both performance and music has not recently been captured by a band quite the way At the Drive-In does. Anyone who has experienced their live show knows just what this five-piece rockpunkemo band from Texas is capable of. The music takes a lot from driving melodic punk riffs, meshed together with quieter interlocking note-picking. With the catchy yet powerful music comes extremely forceful, heartfelt, and intense vocals that you can just feel the passion exploding from. Lyrics are often abstract and personal, but not too far gone. At The Drive-In - InCasinoOut 1998. To favorites 2 Download album. Listen album. Songs in album At The Drive-In - InCasinoOut 1998. To me, this is the quintessential pressing of in/casino/out. The quality of this pressing is amazing! It feels around 200gr and is an absolutely beautiful pressing; dead silent and obviously fresh, fresh wax. The edges are super smooth and round unlike some of today's jagged, razor sharp edges. I much prefer standard black wax to colors or clear due to the documented use of 1) graphite (for lubrication, lifespan) and the fact that it is fresh and new wax. I have noticed colored pressings are often noisy and lacking clarity!

This is one of my favorite recordings of all time and I have listened to it hundreds of times via every form of media one can imagine and THIS is the ABSOLUTE BEST of every medium I have tried. I can't emphasize enough how well pressed this version is! 1998, the way it came out of the studio, PERFECTION!

Fun facts: 1) This version omits the lyrics for Transatlantic Foe. every other song is accounted for but not Transatlantic Foe. 2) Jeremy Ward is credited with an outro that doesn't exist ;) if my memory serves me correctly he was also credited with certain things on Mars Volta records that, once again, did not exist. Perhaps an outro was planned and canned due to there not being enough space on the disk? Who knows, you'd have to asked Cedric and/or Omar about that one...

Anyway, in/casino/out has always been my favorite atdi recording and this is the way I believe the band meant it to sound. If you want to hear it the way it was meant to sound track one of these original black pressings down in good shape and enjoy :) I have also listened to the new reissues and while decent quality, it's just not quite the same. Get one while you can still find them at a fair price! :)
