Rare & Well Done Greatest And Most Obscure Recordings1964-2001 2xCD, Comp. C2K 62153. The well-done section avoids that problem by taking all but three of its selections from the 1966-1971 era, including such highlights as the Blues Project's Flute Thing, Blood, Sweat, & Tears' I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know, and the title cut of his I Stand Alone album. It also has some tracks that even those fairly familiar with Kooper might have overlooked, like 1969's Bury My Body with Shuggie Otis on guitar. Throughout much of the 1960s and 1970s, he was a prolific studio musician, playing organ on the Bob Dylan song Like A Rolling. In 2008, he participated in the production of the album Psalngs, the debut release of Canadian musician John Lefebvre. Kooper was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, in Nashville, in 2008. Rare and Well Done: The Greatest and Most Obscure Recordings 1964-2001 2001. Everyone knows Al Kooper in one form or another. If the name isn't instantly recognizable, then Kooper's long list of musical contributions and achievements should very well be. After all, this is the man who not only played the legendary and unforgettable organ part on Dylan's Like a Rolling Ston. So much so, in fact, that Kooper has recently released Rare & Well Done, a two disc collection that fully represent the album's title. All the tracks were 24-bit remastered with Kooper's own supervision.
