Donna is the first single by British art pop band 10cc. Released in 1972, it peaked at No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was written by Lol Creme and Kevin Godley. Donna, a parody of doo-wop songs see also Donna by Ritchie Valens, was originally written as a potential B-side to the song Waterfall. The song features sharp contrasts between falsetto in the chorus Creme and deep monotone vocals Godley in the verse. It is often compared with the Beatles song Oh Darling. 10cc is the debut album by British rock band 10cc. It was recorded at Strawberry Studios in Stockport, which was part-owned by guitarist and engineer Eric Stewart, and released on Jonathan King's UK Records label. The album reached in the UK. Three of its four UK singles reached the Top 10 in the charts, including 1 hit Rubber Bullets. The fifth single Headline Hustler was released only in the American market to promote a tour in the USA. Donna is the self-titled debut album by Filipino singer Donna Cruz, released in 1991 by Viva Records in the Philippines. Cruz received an award for Best New Female Recording Artist at the 1992 Awit Awards. The album spawned the hits Rain a Boy Mondragon original, Boy I Love You a Cherie Gil original and the lead single, Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso, which was Cruz's debut single and breakthrough hit.
